DETAIL/ARTIST’S PERSPECTIVE:

At the time that I had painted this composition, I had 2 step-children under the age of 8 and my home was the neighborhood hangout. Somehow, this realistic representation of a “still-life,” helped to balance out my not-so-still life. I am also a Libra, so it felt appropriate to paint the scale. Using a slow-glazing process, I was able to integrate complementary textures on top of, or accenting the items included, increasing the piece’s impact.
